Group Therapy

We offer group therapy for all ages, from children as young as 4 through adulthood. Group therapy can be a meaningful way to build connection, practice communication and social skills, gain new perspectives, and learn from others who may be navigating similar experiences. For children and teens especially, groups can provide a safe space to practice skills with peers, while adults may benefit from the sense of community, support, and shared understanding that group therapy provides.

What is Group Therapy?

Group therapy brings people together in a supportive, structured environment facilitated by a trained therapist. While each group is different, participants have the opportunity to explore shared goals, practice new skills, and learn through both guided activities and interactions with other group members.

Our groups are thoughtfully designed to be engaging, developmentally appropriate, and responsive to the needs of the people participating.

What Can Group Therapy Help With?

Depending on the group, participants may work on:

  • Social and communication skills

  • Building confidence and self-esteem

  • Making and maintaining friendships

  • Emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Managing big feelings

  • Healthy relationships and boundaries

  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution

  • Self-expression and emotional awareness

  • Navigating school, family, or peer relationships

  • Building a stronger sense of connection and belonging

Finding the Right Group

CWC-103.jpg

Finding the right group is about more than age. We consider developmental needs, goals, personality, and the overall group dynamic when determining whether a group is a good fit.

Before joining a group, we may recommend a brief pre-screening and/or individual intake to help us understand your needs and determine which group will be the best match.

We believe therapy can be more than a conversation between two people. Sometimes, growth happens through connection, shared experiences, and having the opportunity to practice new skills alongside others.

We offer groups throughout the year for children, teens, and adults. Reach out to learn more about our current and upcoming groups and find out whether group therapy may be a good fit for you or your child.
